Our History - From the Heart of Chile
There are places that leave a lasting impression.
For me, that place is Valle Hermoso, a small town in Chile's Valparaíso Region, proudly recognized as "The Cradle of Weaving." For generations, its families have transformed natural fibers into extraordinary textiles, preserving a legacy of craftsmanship, tradition, and artistry.
It was this remarkable place that inspired the name My Beautiful Valley.
I wanted the name to honor not only a beautiful valley, but also the people whose hands and heritage continue to keep one of Chile's most treasured textile traditions alive.
But My Beautiful Valley did not begin with a business plan.
It began with a simple encounter.
More than ten years ago, while attending an English class in the United States, I was wearing one of my favorite cardigans from Chile. Its vibrant colors, rich textures, and handcrafted details had a unique quality. Every time I wore it, I felt radiant, confident, energized, and full of life. It wasn't simply a cardigan—it lifted my spirits and, without saying a single word, attracted attention, sparked conversations, and made me feel exactly the way I wanted to feel: radiant on the outside and vibrant on the inside. It was unlike anything I had found here.
During a class break, one of my classmates walked over, gently ran her hand across the fabric, and exclaimed,
"Oh my gosh... that's gorgeous! Where did you get it?"
In that moment, something changed.
I realized that if someone who had never experienced Chilean craftsmanship could instantly fall in love with that garment, perhaps many other women would too.
That simple conversation planted the seed for what would eventually become My Beautiful Valley.
I have always dreamed of sharing the extraordinary textiles of my country.
That dream has taken me back to Chile time and again, allowing me to build personal relationships with family-owned workshops, master weavers, embroiderers, and textile artists who have devoted their lives to preserving techniques passed down through generations.
Today, every collection is born from those relationships.
Each piece is thoughtfully selected for its authenticity, exceptional craftsmanship, and the story woven into every thread.
Some feature delicate floral needle-felt embroidery. Others become true wearable art through the exclusive wool paintings created by Chilean textile artist Francisca Moreno.
Whether it is a shawl, poncho, ruana, cardigan, sweater, or accessory, every creation reflects the passion, talent, and dedication of the artisans who brought it to life.
My Beautiful Valley is more than a clothing brand.
It is a carefully curated collection celebrating Chile's rich textile heritage.
A bridge between Chile and the United States.
A celebration of craftsmanship in a world increasingly shaped by mass production.
A tribute to natural fibers, timeless design, and the remarkable artistry of Chilean artisans.
What brings me the greatest joy is knowing that the moment which inspired this journey continues to happen today.
Our customers often tell me that whenever they wear one of our pieces, someone stops them and says,
"Oh my gosh... that's gorgeous! Where did you get it?"
Every time I hear those words, I smile.
They take me back to that classroom more than ten years ago, when I realized that the extraordinary textiles woven in my country could touch the hearts of women thousands of miles away.
That simple question became a dream.
And that dream became My Beautiful Valley.
Thank you for being part of this story.
